NAFC's Specialty Certifications include: Walking Strong Trainer & Native Youth Fitness Leader.

WALKING STRONG TRAINER
This certification teaches you to lead an easy to implement exercise program designed to prevent diabetes. Elders and adults pose special challenges for fitness trainers. This workshop gives you the skills to motivate and train this population. Our Walking Strong program develops total fitness using a combination of resistance exercise, balance training, and functional movements. The workouts are not just fun — they’re also easy to implement requiring little equipment..

NATIVE YOUTH FITNESS LEADER
This training is for adults who work with Native children. Participants are inspired to help Native youth lead healthy, active lives. Take this 2-day training, which uses techniques that speak to young people.

Learn how to integrate athletic drills, Native games, fitness play, basic exercise principles, and leadership skills into your youth programs. Our Native Youth Fitness Leader training teaches through participation.
